Matt Medved is a senior at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, where he has focused on magazine journalism and creative writing. Matt is currently contributing his "Sports Matters" sports blog to the Chicago Methods Reporter, where he covers professional and local sports with an offbeat approach. Matt has previously worked for the Cape Argus newspaper in Cape Town, South Africa where he broke numerous news stories including gangsterism in primary schools and a plot by Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe's Central Intelligence Organization to implicate Archbishop Pius Ncube in an illicit affair via a sting interview conducted by one of Mugabe's relatives. Matt has also covered stories in Swaziland, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe in the form of narrative features and has written extensively on South African street children and prison gangsters.

Matt is an avid writer of poetry, prose and songs and also performs as the lead vocalist of the Clovis Points, a Rochester, NY rock band.
