After three years at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts/Oriental Theatre, and what will turn out to be 1,500 performances, the Tony-Award-winning Broadway musical “Wicked” will be closing on Jan 25, 2009.
The show already has become the highest-grossing and longest-running Broadway musical in Chicago theater history. It’s estimated that more than 2 million people will have seen the Chicago production by the time the show closes, and its producers are estimating a total gross of more than $200 million at the box office for the entire run.
